This vintage rug was manufactured in Egypt sometime within the last two decades by a company called Oriental Weavers. They have several collections but one of their most popular is the Kharma collection. It is where they take heat-set polypropylene fabric and dye it in a tea-mixture to give it an unusual color and texture - its antiques the piece beautifully. Most of the designs in the Kharma collection are traditional, focusing on Eastern European floral and faintly geometric motifs. The piece is a runner from that collection, done in shades of green and red before going through the dying process. It features lovely floral patterns and motifs and is in overall good shape, extremely similar to the classic Mahal & Sultanabad regional designs.  It measures 92" x 26".
