  • This mahogany veneer (over oak frame) china cabinet was manufactured by Drexel Furniture Co., in NC, in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Done in the Federal style, it features a bow-front with a single curved glass door with a wooden knob, flanked by a glass panel to either side. Inside there are two long shelves, each with a plate groove, and a slightly larger shelf space underneath them without a groove. This display case is set over a buffet with a set of three central graduated drawers, each with double beaded bail pulls and dovetail joinery. The Drexel brand is burned into the right inner side of the topmost drawer. Bracketing these drawers are a pair of cupboards, one to each side. The cupboards open outward and each has one recessed permanent shelf. The piece is a single unit - it measures 69" high, 48" wide, 12" - 16" deep ( this difference is due to the bowfront that extends from top to bottom in the center of the piece), and weighs approximately 150-175 lbs. This piece is in good condition but does show signs of wear from both age and use. There are signs of wear along the base apron as well as the upper moldings. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
