This antique tribal figure and vessel are hand-carved and sealed mahogany. It depicts a squatting man, in a loin cloth, holding a large head with an elaborate headdress on top of his own head. The headdress has had a narrow bowl carved out of its center, good for holding small pieces or candles. The piece measures 13" high, 3 1/2" wide at the head, 4" at the base, and 5" deep. It weighs approximately 2 lbs. This piece is in good condition but does have one crack visible to the base of the piece. There is some slight degradation of the varnish to the edges of the bowl. Inside the bowl and the very bottom of the base are not varnished. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
