  • This antique library desk was produced for public use (most likely a city, county, or university library) sometime in the 1940s. Fashioned exclusively from dark quartersawn, or tiger, oak, it features a large top work surface, a single drawer with a pair of brushed brass pulls, and a small lower shelf held aloft with scrolled brackets on all four sides. It has lovely cabriole legs with pad feet and dovetail joinery throughout. From looking over the construction of the piece, it would be possible to dissemble the legs from the main body for transport but this has not been attempted. The piece measures 30" high, 36 1/2' wide, 25" deep, and weighs between 20 - 25 lbs. This piece is in very good condition but does show some signs of wear from age and use. There are some marks on the legs and feet as well as small divots around the edges of the drawer. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
