  • These lovely ironstone coupe or cereal bowls were manufactured around 1910 by the British Ashworth Bros Hanley Company. The pattern number is B9461, which is also the number handwritten in red on the back of each piece, and it is known as Oriental Birds & Peonies. These pieces are blue transferware that have then been hand-painted in shades of ochre, magenta, and pale green.  Each bowl measures 2" high and 6 1/2" in diameter. The back of each piece bears the stamped underglaze maker's mark for the Ashworth Bros (1891 version,) plus incised numbers, the previously mentioned red pattern number, as well as the impression stamp of the same maker's mark, without ink. Both bowls are very good condition but do show signs of fading, loss of enamel around the rim, and crazing throughout. Please consult all images and message with any questions.

These come as a set of 4 and there are two sets available.
