  • This restored antique late Victorian Eastlake style parlor armchair has the original walnut frame and has been freshly, expertly reupholstered in short-nap red velvet with sateen gold and crimson trim. The chairs displays classic Eastlake details such high relief arm scrolls, excised relief carvings in the arms and back, ornate and beautifully scrolled and turned crest and side rail pediments, beveled low relief walnut panels, and an extensive and elegantly carved apron. Its front two legs are shorter and feature a more angular take on the classic mutton leg with its softly squared top that tapers down to the foot, broken only by two progressively smaller circular moldings. The back legs are long and feature a more dramatic saber leg ending in a steel capped toe. The chair measures 40" high, 22" wide, 18" deep, and has a seat height of 18". It weighs approximately 20 lbs. It was part of a set of three that has since been separated. This item is in good condition but does show signs of age to the frame. There are signs of extensive, expert repairs to the wood, most notably the front apron. Both front casters are replacements.  It looks like most of the original flocking has been maintained. Please consult images and message with any questions.
