  • These antique chairs were produced around the turn of the 20th century from beautifully-cut quartersawn walnut. They feature carefully done satin and rosewood floral inlay along the crest rail with a delicate repeating pattern down both side rails and along the front apron and leg crests. The front legs taper to a cylindrical foot and the back legs are the classic saber. This pair of chairs maintains the original flocking and springs but there have been some unsuccessful attempts to reupholstered the seat and back rest. There are several large tears in the front of the seat, along high stress areas, so please consult the provided images. There also looks like there was an attempt to use wood glue to repair some of the inlay, with limited success. The chairs each measure 38 1/2" high, 18" wide, 17" deep, with a seat height of 19 1/2". The weigh approximately 8 lbs each. These chairs are in fair to good condition. Most of the wear is visible on the upholstery with some visible on the feet and the inlay. Please consult images and message with any questions.
