  • This absolutely gorgeous set of upholstered parlor chairs were produced during the height of the Aesthetic Movement, between 1880-1890. Featuring the classic excised relief carvings, floral and folate designs to the crest rail and side finials, and brass front leg casters, these chairs are carved from ebonized black walnut. They have been recently restored, the wood freshly ebonized and shellacked in a gloriously glossy clear coat. The upholstery is also very new, within the last five years, and is done in a classic late Victorian floral design, in the more modern color scheme of mauve, blush and brilliant aqua, with a pale teal braided trim throughout. There are signs that these are antiques under the new gloss - there are some of the typical nicks and chips to the legs and seat rails that are very often seen in antiques of this age - but the chairs have been meticulously restored and these small hints are barely discernible to the naked eye. The chairs measure 36" high, 19" wide, 18" deep, with a seat height of 16 1/2". Each chair weighs approximately 8 lbs. Please consult images and message with any questions.
