This antique copper round-bottom bowl was used as part of a large-batch double boiler to melt chocolate and candy to the right consistency without a candy thermometer. It has two wide, arched iron handles, attached with copper rivets, so the cook could pickup the bowl without getting too close to the very hot rim. This piece measures 21 1/2" wide, has a 20" diameter, and sits 9" high. It weighs approximately 12 lbs. This piece is in fair to good condition with signs of wear from tarnish, use, and age visible throughout. The bottom has been noticeably dented and there are some cracks in the copper along the handles. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
