These massive antique armchairs are from mid 19th century France and were recently imported. They were mostly likely used in the foyer of a large home as guest or visitor chairs. The frames are made from walnut and shaped into a popular old Renaissance style  with heavy flat-bottomed pawfeet, deep arm rests, and throne-like finials on the side rails. They were reupholstered sometime in the last thirty years in a short-nap red velvet with fine threaded antiqued gold fringe running along the bottom edge of the seat and the bottom edge of the back splat.The springs are original to the piece. These chairs measure 51" high, 26" wide, and 19" deep. they  have a seat height of 18". They are heavy, weighing in at approximately 35 lbs. In overall good condition, there are some signs of of wear to the upholstery and there are the typical nicks/scuff/scratches seen in antique furniture to the walnut frame.  Please consult images and message with any questions.
