  • This antique 1940s German-style bisque ware vase is lovely and would be an elegant addition to any setting. Designed as a stem vase, it has three small openings (two small flowers to either side and a wider, taller flower in the center) to place small posies of silk or cut flowers. Bisque ware was quite popular in Europe for its resemblance to marble and was often seen on dolls and figurines such as this one. Most bisque ware is unpainted or, as is the case here, only lightly accented with gilt to draw the eye to the focal point of the piece. The piece measures 8" high, 4 1/2" wide, 3" deep, and weighs approximately 10 ounces. While in overall good condition, the small boy central to the piece is missing his right hand and there is some slight fading to the gilt on the flowers. Please consult all images and message with any questions.
