These salad plates were manufactured around 1939 in England by Hammersley & Co. They bear the crown and acorn mark that was introduced around that time stamped into their bases. They are a rare cobalt version of the popular pattern Dresden floral style. Referred to only as HAM14, it features a floral central medallion surrounded by an ivory and cobalt background. The cobalt is limned in gilt crackle and a lovely ivy and floral motif in gilt encircles the rim. The central floral illustrations are hand-painted and signed by F. Howard. These plates measure 8" in diameter and are 1/2" high/deep. These items are in very good to excellent condition, with only minor signs of wear attributed to age. Please consult images and message with any questions.
