This antique oak chair has hand-turned with high honey comb finials topping the side rails and decorating the spindled back splat. It also features a quarter-sawn oak crest rail that has a gorgeous pressed carving that echoes the theme seen in the finals, side rails, and lower half of the chair. The seat features a circular leather cutout fit into the wider oak seat, hand-tooled with the images of a hunt master brandishing a whip while galloping astride, surrounded by baying hounds. The image is bracketed above and below with oak leaf wreaths and grassy swags, respectively. The leather is tacked into place at the center of the wooden seat with decorative floral brass chair tacks.  The chair apron also features a pin and line patterned design pressed into its front section. The supports, lower spindles, and stretchers all feature turned designs that fit with the overall masculine country theme.  The chair measures 41" high, 17" wide (at its broadest point), 17" deep and it has a chair height of 17 1/2".  This chair is in very good to good condition. It is an antique and does show some signs of age and use appropriate wear to the wood and leather. Please consult images and message with any questions.
